Youth Volleyball Fundamentals Skills Camp. Sign ups Open May 14th Ages 8 -11
Players will be learning proper technique for all fundamental skills. Great for those players wanting to improve their skills to prepare for more advanced play. If your player is interested in competing at the next level, or needs to improve at the competitive level, then this is for them.
Camp will be located at Neinhuis Community Center from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. June 23rd - June 25th
This camp will be hosted by BAVC, and ran by Deborah A. Newkirk. Deborah is the founder of COACH 'EM UP & COACH KIDS UP, and also the author of the Youth Volleyball Curriculum handbook offered by The Art of Coaching Volleyball organization. She has hosted many camps with BAVC and we love having her join us again! This years focus will be more on competitive play and raising the skill level to that competitive style.
Deborah Newkirk
Deborah Newkirk has over three decades of experience in youth coaching. She is a physical educator who has spent a professional lifetime bringing the worlds of coaching and teaching together. After 20 years of competitive coaching, she began focusing on training and created COACH 'EM UP. Today, COACH 'EM UP serves as a resource for nearly 3,000 families a year. Year round off-the-floor training programs have been a big part of the COACH 'EM UP success, providing young athletes with motivation and an organized means of improving their game, both on the court and in their backyards.
Deborah Newkirk serves over 3000 families in the Austin area and nation-wide. Her company, COACH ‘EM UP, is built on three tenants: Confidence, Fundamentals, & Champions. Her ongoing, lifetime efforts in providing age-appropriate instruction and curriculum-based methodologies stems from her background and years of experience as a Physical Educator. Her coaching certification program has allowed for great teachers to share their personality and knowledge while sticking to the game plan in how COACH ‘EM UP shares, teaches, and cares for children. Coach Newkirk wrote the book THE VOLLEYBALL YOUTH CURRICULUM Years 1-6 in partnership with the Art of Coaching Volleyball, which has sold over 500 copies to club directors, youth instructors, PE teachers and coaches. She publicly speaks at conventions, coaches’ clinics, and to schools, spreading the word of the importance of progressions, the fun-factor, and building a meaningful program.
